Oh yes, he DID just bitch slap the constable! *rofl*

Walk-through

The quest began after 5 am, and the spy’s first objective was to go to the forest.  He needed to scout for chinchillas but he wasn’t quite ready, so he went hunting instead.  He got mauled by a mother bear protecting her cub, so he had to go to the Village Shoppe to buy first aid supplies.  Then he needed to take care of his dailies and grab a bite to eat before he went to scout for dire chinchillas.  The next objective was to consult the elder hunter who was hanging around by the forest, but the spy needed to get some rest first.

The spy collected herbs and practised kingball for a while when he woke up.  He had breakfast at the tavern, then took care of his daily responsibilities before heading to the forest.  When he discussed the dire chinchillas with the elder hunter, he was instructed to meet the hunter at the pit of judgement.  He collected all the herbs from the forest clearing, then went to the judgement zone to meet the hunter.  He discussed the plan to kill the chinchillas, then watched as the elder hunter jumped into the pit and attacked the pit beast.

The elder hunter jumped in the pit the first time around 9 pm, and the spy watched him fight the pit beast repeatedly.  The elder hunter would drag himself out of the pit, then immediately jump in again!  Eventually the spy passed out from exhaustion and was able to go home some time around 3 am.  He slept and ate a meal, then returned to the judgement zone to watch the elder hunter fight the pit beast some more.  It seemed the quest could be bugged, but finally the elder hunter stopped his insane behaviour and the spy was able to discuss training with him.  (The previous times I played this quest were prior to the release of Pirates & Nobles, and this continuous jumping in the pit never happened those times.  It could’ve been a one-off thing, but if it happens to you, try getting your sim to leave the area and return after some time has passed.  Then send the sim to watch the fight in the pit again.)

After they discussed training, the spy’s next objective was to spar with the elder hunter, but he decided to pick a few pockets and take care of his dailies first.  He returned to the judgement zone in the late afternoon and sparred with the elder hunter.  It was a good match and the spy won, but he was arrested and put in the stocks for his trouble!  He was stuck for an hour, forced to listen to the crazy old man, then he needed to decide how to proceed.  He chose to continue listening to the old man, despite all the insanity.

The spy was in a foul mood from his time in the stocks, and he slapped the constable as soon as he was released.  He was supposed to jump into the pit, but he went for a walk to pick some herbs and then went home for the night.  In the morning, he mixed a few extra potions and hung out with the king for a while before receiving his daily responsibilities. After completing his work tasks and collecting potion ingredients around town, the spy finally went to the pit and faced the beast in combat.

The next quest objective was to go to the forest to meet the elder hunter, then ask him about armour.  The old man offered to tell the spy the origins of the armour first, so he decided to listen.  After asking for the story, the old man challenged him to a sparring match and proceeded to tell his tale while smacking the daylights out of the spy.  Finally he handed over the legendary cloak (a costume), and the spy needed to wear it before hunting the dire chinchillas in the forest.  It would’ve been nice to have extra time to kill that annoying elder hunter, but the spy had to complete his fur hunt in the forest.  The quest ended in platinum, earning 2 security and 2 culture aspect points, and the spy got to keep the cool costume to wear whenever he wishes.

Walk-through

This quest only comes up if you have completed the Ominous Tides quest, and it allows you to gain pirate or guild allegiance.  This walk-through will demonstrate gaining guild allegiance, but to gain pirate allegiance you would need to make the opposite choices.  If you make a blend of guild and pirate choice throughout the quest, you can keep your kingdom neutral.

The quest began at 3 pm, and the king’s first objective was to decide if he should pick up his new sword himself, or send the servant to collect it.  He ordered the servant to collect the sword, then set about taking care of his daily responsibilities.  He wrote a treaty of ongoing peace, then went to the forest clearing to sic a parrot on the guild emissary.  After returning home and cooking some seed porridge, it was time for the king to get his sword from the servant.

The next quest objective was to test out the new sword, which can be done with the training dummy or through sparring or duelling with an opponent.  The king used the new sword on his training dummy and the sword broke.  He decided to sleep for a few hours before taking care of his next quest objective, which was to confront the master swordsmith about the broken sword.  He went to Town Square at midnight to talk to her about it.

His next quest objective was to talk to the royal advisor about the guild behaviour. The king decided to dig for treasure at the Town Square and got smacked by the pit beast.  He made several more holes, trying to encounter the pit beast again while covered in its scent. After three tries, he finally got snatched by the beast and dragged into the pit to fight. During the struggle, the king had a choice to fight or take cover.  He took cover and found the Doomsword hilt.

Dawn broke before the king made it back to the castle.  He cooked an early breakfast for himself and passed a few hours reading a book.  Then he took care of his daily responsibilities and spoke to the royal advisor about the guild behaviour.

The next quest objectives were to make appropriate arrangements for the peace summit the king would host for the pirates and nobles. The king needed to choose what kind of food to prepare, and he selected gourmet hors d’oeuvres for the menu.  The king also needed to discuss security arrangements with the lieutenant and request a song from each musician waiting at the main gate.

The king needed 3 boar meat and 3 cheese for the summit menu, so he headed to the forest to hunt just after noon. While he was in the forest, he met two strange guys asking for “personages of historical significance,” so the king directed them to the castle of course. He got a totally excellent map piece from them as they ran back into the woods a short time later.  The king went to the village shoppe next.  He was able to buy all the cheese he needed, but the shoppe was low on boar meat.

When he returned from the village, the king requested a song from each of the musicians waiting at the main gate.  The woman from Tredony was certainly the best, so the king hired her to perform for the guests at the peace summit.  He took some time to chat with his servant before dinner, then met with the lieutenant to go over the security arrangements.  The king needed to choose how security should be handled, and he wanted to make a show of force to make sure everyone felt safe.

The next quest objective was to sample the talent at town square, to find someone who could make the guests feel at home during their stay.  The king was completely exhausted, so he went to bed and slept until just after 5 am.  He went hunting again but failed to get more boar meat.  He returned to the castle and cooked a meal for himself.  Then he spotted his son and socialized with the boy for a while before sending him shopping.  The king took care of his dailies while his son went shopping.

After his work was finished, the king went to town square to survey the talent.  Two women were waiting near the well and the king needed to check them both out.  The woman from Aarbyville looked exactly like the king’s great-grandmother, so he picked the woman from Tredony and hired her to be the greeter for the summit.  The prince had returned from the shoppe, so the king collected the last of the boar meat he needed and took the food to the servant.

The next quest objective was to get a status report from the royal advisor.  The king spoke with her in the throne room and was instructed to bathe in seawater or wildflower water prior to the guests arriving for the summit.  The king selected the wildflower water and enjoyed a hot bath.  His next objective was to wait for news of the arrivals.  He brewed and drank some regular Royale Crowne in the cask, then received news that the Tredonians had arrived.  The king’s next objective was to ask the royal advisor about the Tredonians. Then he went to greet them.

The king met the Tredonians at the forest and gave a gracious greeting to the Guild Lord, then took a moment to get to know the Admiral and the Guild Lord’s heir.  His next objective was to escort the group to the reception hall.  Just as they arrived at the castle, the royal advisor informed him that the Aarbyvillians had arrived and were waiting at the beach.  The king decided to sleep and grab a bite to eat before dealing with them.  He gave a surly salutation to the Dread Captain, then escorted the Aarbyvillians to the Reception Hall right around 6 am.

The next quest objective was to announce the start of the summit.  The two parties exchanged gifts with each other and the king needed to continue the summit by making the next announcement.  The second stage of the summit was the gift giving ceremony, where both parties present gifts to the host.  The king needed to go to Town Square to receive the gifts from the Tredonian and Aarbyvilian guests.  (The Town Square is decorated in a noble theme to demonstrate the allegiance at this point in the quest.)

The king’s next quest objectives were to receive a gift from each of the foreign representatives.  The Guild Lord gave him an interrogation chair and encouraged him to test out the one on display at Town Square.  The Dread Captain presented the king with a sunset macaw, and he needed to send the parrot treasure hunting.  While he waited for the bird to return, he had to lock up the musician and test out the interrogation chair.  He used a combination of tickling, dousing with water, and showing the mysterious box to the musician until he could interrogate her.  He got some free spices from her and his next quest objective was to pick up the free interrogation chair from the village.

The king took care of his daily responsibilities before going to the village to get the interrogation chair.  (You don’t buy the chair from the shoppe, instead, there’s a special option when you click on the path to the village.)  His next quest objective was to return to Town Square.  Once there, his next objective was to return to the Reception Hall, but he needed to sleep first.  He went home to sleep, and was awake early the next morning to continue the peace summit. Upon returning to the Reception Hall, he found the royal guards unconscious and two of the guests were missing.

The king’s next quest objectives were to question Admiral Mandrake and Korbin Ravenscar, the two remaining members of each party.  He heard both of their claims, then waited for everyone to clear out of the Reception Hall before speaking with the royal advisor.  The quest ended in platinum, earning 1 security and 2 culture aspect points, plus moved the war effort toward the Tredonian side.

  • forge the noble’s sword
  • check on apprentice’s work
  • deliver the equipment to the monarch
Make your apprentice do all the work so you have time to woo random sims!

Walk-through

The quest began just before 5 pm, but the blacksmith had a full day of job duties and errands to run.  His first quest objective was to speak with the monarch about smithing duties, but it could wait a while.  The smith went to the Village Shoppe to buy some bear meat (in case it’s needed for crafting) and some basic food supplies.  Then he discovered and harvested several types of ore around the path to the village and the training yard.  He returned home and repaired a pirate’s rowboat with the forge.  He had some soup, then crafted some armour for a guard.  It was getting late when he delivered the boat and armour to his customers, so the blacksmith went home to bed.

In the morning, he woke before 6 am.  He discovered more types of ore along the path to the castle, then talked to the king about smithing duties.  The king said a large order would be coming and advised the smith to hire extra help.  The next quest objective was to tell 3 people that he was looking for an apprentice.  He collected more raw materials for crafting and spoke with villagers he met along the way.  He spoke with the third villager, a female guildsman, and received a tip about a young man who would be a great apprentice.  He put his quest on hold briefly in order to befriend and seduce the female guildsman.  He took her home for some woohoo and the woman left immediately after, so the blacksmith cooked dinner for himself and ate alone.

The next quest objectives were to buy an amateur’s apron from the Village Shoppe, forge some tongs, and forge a helper’s hammer.  He went to the village to buy the apron before going to bed around 1 am.  He slept and forged the tongs in the morning when he woke up. Then he mined some more raw materials from around the smithy and the path to the village.  He took care of his daily job duties and was pleased to see his romantic interest hanging out in Town Square that afternoon.  He serenaded her and charmed her into his bed once again before forging the hammer for his new apprentice.  His next objective was to forge some training scraps for the apprentice to practice on, so he did that right away.

He was summoned to the throne room to get an update from the king just as an applicant arrived at the smithy.  It was a woman rather than a young man, as the blacksmith expected.  He decided to hear the king’s update first, so he went to the castle.  The king gave him his next objective, which was to craft some prototype armour.  He had to take care of his dailies and gather more raw materials before going home.  He forged some plate mail to sell in the village, then talked to the applicant to determine her suitability.

The applicant offered to clean up, so the blacksmith needed to give her some time to do the job.  In the meanwhile, he forged the prototype armour for the king, and delivered it personally.  The king loved it and said he wanted a hundred pieces of the new armour!  The blacksmith returned home to find the place filthy, and he needed to decide how to decline the lazy applicant.  He fired her with extreme prejudice and his next objective was to kick her out of his shop, which he was glad to do without delay.

The next quest objective was to interview the apprentice-to-be, the young man the blacksmith had heard good things about earlier.  The interview was put off until morning because it was nearly midnight and the smith was exhausted.  In the morning, he interviewed the applicant.  First, he quizzed the young man about smithing, then asked if he was confident handling hot metal.  He hired the applicant after the interview.

The next quest objectives were to give the new apprentice his tools and materials, then forge the noble’s sword for the monarch.  The smith needed decorative gems and a longsword to craft the noble’s sword, but the Village Shoppe didn’t have any decorative gems when he checked.  He would have to wait for the shoppe to get fresh stock in the morning.  He mined around town, then forged a new hammer for himself and crafted a longsword.  When the store refreshed, the blacksmith was able to purchase decorative gems to finish the noble’s sword.  He went home and forged it before his daily duties were posted.

Next, the blacksmith needed to check the apprentice’s work, and he was surprised to learn that the guy had finished the entire order for the monarch already!  The next quest objective was to deliver the equipment to the monarch, but the blacksmith took care of his dailies first.  After making the delivery to the monarch, the quest ended in platinum, earning 1 security and 2 knowledge aspect points for the kingdom.

  • write a journal entry
    Ahhh… romance!

Walk-through

This quest is only available for an unmarried monarch, and the monarch will get married and produce an heir during this quest.  This quest is optional.  If you’re playing the Kingdom Legacy challenge, this quest is a good way for your monarch to marry another hero in the kingdom (enabling you to produce an heir who can later become a dual-class monarch).

The quest began at midnight, so the king went to sleep before taking care of his first quest objective.  When he woke up in the morning, he needed to write a declaration of intent at the scribe table, then mail it at the messenger post.  The declaration would inform every citizen in the kingdom that he was seeking a suitor to produce an heir to the throne.

His next quest objective was to bathe in a tub, but he didn’t own one yet so he had to furnish his bathroom first.  After a relaxing soak in the tub, the king’s next quest objective was to choose 3 potential suitors, and he got his job duties for the day.  He hunted a great bear in the forest, then went to the docks and asked a pretty guard to be a potential suitor. Next he went to the tavern to have a meal and ask the bard to be a potential suitor.  Finally he went to the reception hall and asked the harlequin to be a potential suitor.

The next quest objective was the king needed to write a journal entry.  He went home and read the war crimes docket, signed the arrest warrant, and wrote his journal entry at the scribe table.  He needed to choose what qualities he wanted in a mate: aggressive or funny. The king was a jokester, so he picked funny without hesitation.  After sending the guildsman to the stocks, he needed to ask each woman for a joke.  The harlequin’s joke was pretty good, but the guard wasn’t very funny.  The bard was flirty, and the king’s next objective was to give a “royal embrace of friendship” to each suitor.  The bard suggested they try something more romantic after they hugged.  The guard also responded romantically when the king hugged her.

It was 9 pm then, and the harlequin had gone to the village.  The king went to the Judgement Zone and released the guildsman from the stocks, then fed him to the pit beast. He searched for treasure while he waited for the beast to eat the guildsman, then he filled in the hole he made and went to find the harlequin.  The harlequin wasn’t friendly at all when he hugged her.

The king needed to eat dinner and write another journal entry.  Next he had to choose: business or romance, and he definitely wanted a deep, loving relationship with the mother of his child.  His next quest objective was to write a love letter to his chosen one, but the king decided to sleep on it.  He wrote the love letter in the morning and took care of his work.  His next objective was to deliver the letter to his chosen one.  He met up with the bard on the beach after work and gave her the love letter.  The king had to choose what virtues he wanted for his child, and he chose empathy.

He had to argue with someone, then apologize.  He picked the ex-suitor guard, and he earned the virtue of compassion for his child.  Next he chose to search for the second virtue in the village, and he found the virtue of generosity.  He chose to search people’s souls for the third virtue, and had to ask three people for faith.  He found faith for his child, then the king needed to write another journal entry.  He headed home just before midnight and wrote the journal entry.

It was late, but the king rushed out to complete his next quest objective, to kiss his suitor goodbye.  He found her at Town Square and she promised to meet him in the forest for a special fertility ritual.  The king’s next objective was to take the boat and get fertility wine from a distant place.  He went straight to the docks and set sail at 3 am.  When he got back, he met with the bard in the forest and they performed the fertility ritual before dawn.

The king’s next quest objective was to marry his suitor, so he invited her back to the castle.  He ordered the servant to prepare a meal, and after eating, the bride went upstairs to sleep in the king’s bed.  It seemed like a great idea, so he went to sleep beside her.  After a few hours he woke her up, kissed her passionately, pronounced his undying devotion to her, and then married her in a private ceremony in his bedchamber.

Next he had to decide if gender mattered and he decided it did; he wanted a boy.  He needed to plan his mating strategy next, using the military strategy table.  Finally he felt ready to woohoo and conceive a child.  It took three tries, but his wife finally conceived just before 4 pm.  His only objective at that point was to wait for the baby to be born.

The king completed his job tasks, then slept a little more.  He woke up in the middle of the night and went hunting in the forest for fun.  He caught a few fowl, and received the book for crafting the legendary Doomsword after he ran into a strange bookseller in the woods. The king returned home to nap and socialize with his pregnant wife, then took care of another day of work.  Still waiting, he cooked some lunch and then held court to pass the rest of the time.

The baby was born around 4 pm: a boy, as planned.  The next quest objective was to spend time with the baby.  The king monopolized baby’s time and never let his wife hold the boy.  He didn’t want the infant to struggle with unwanted weight gain later in life, so he prevented the mother from breastfeeding the child.  It took extra effort, but the king watched over his newborn son until the baby grew up.

The king’s final quest objective was to write another journal entry, which was combined with the previous entries and bound in a nice book (added to the monarch’s inventory). The quest ended in platinum, earning 2 well being aspect points.

Quest Walkthrough: Ominous Tides

Quest Name: Ominous Tides (Pirates & Nobles war quest)
Approach Name: The Shipwrecked Sailor
Primary Hero: Monarch

Quest Objectives

  • investigate the wreckage at the beach
  • give royal advisor orders (revive the sailor or summon the scouts)
  • question the sailor
  • set sail to look for survivors
  • report findings to the sailor
  • tell royal advisor about the enemy ship
  • discuss the hostile ship with royal advisor at the tactical map
  • get a report from both scouts
  • make security arrangements with the lieutenant
“It creeps me out when you stand there like that.”

Walk-through

This is the first Pirates & Nobles quest available in a new kingdom, and it introduces the war storyline.  This quest is completely optional unless you’re playing the Peacemaker ambition.

The quest began at 8 am, and the first quest objective was to investigate the wreckage at the beach.  The quest objectives would have to wait until the king took care of some personal and royal duties.  First he planned an outfit and remodelled the Throne Room with all the money he had.  Then he headed to the forest to hunt.  He accidentally killed a pixie when he tried to help her, but he managed to get some venison.  His daily job duties came up and the king needed to hunt a great bear, then pass an edict.

He took some time to introduce himself to a couple of guildsmen and dignitaries hanging out in the Throne Room.  Then he decided to dig for treasure near the messenger post in front of the castle, found nothing, and filled in the hole he dug.  It was after 4 pm by the time he headed to the beach to investigate the wreckage.  Several guards stood around the wreckage on the beach, and the royal advisor was standing near the passed out sailor.

The king’s next quest objective was to give the royal advisor her orders.  He told her to revive the sailor, and his next objective was to question the sailor.  He listened to the sailor’s tale of woe, then got the quest objective to set sail and look for survivors.  The king and his crew were attacked at sea, but didn’t find any sign of survivors.  When he returned, the king’s next objective was to report his findings to the shipwrecked sailor.  He decided to leave the sailor with hope that survivors could still be found.

The next quest objective was to tell the royal advisor about the mysterious ship.  The king was tired and hungry, so it was a perfectly good time to go home.  Once there, he gave the royal advisor a nice makeover, but then he forgot to tell her about the enemy ship.  Instead he cooked some venison soup and went to bed.  He woke up around 6 am and went downstairs to socialize with the royal advisor a little before telling her about the ship.

The next quest objective was to discuss the hostile ship at the military strategy table with the royal advisor.  She summoned the scouts after discussing the attack, and the king’s next objectives were to get a report from each of the scouts. Of course, he had to eat, run some errands, and take care of his daily responsibilities first.

He went to the Village Shoppe to buy the beginner’s treasure map (he already had a shovel) and some first aid supplies. Next, he fed a chunk of bear meat to the pit beast and went to the clearing by the forest. He read the treasure map and found the right spot to dig, then dug up the beginner’s treasure and filled in the hole. Finally he returned to the castle and held court until late in the afternoon. He read the war crimes docket and wrote an arrest warrant, then socialized with the dignitaries from Crafthole and Tredony. After 5 pm, he went to Town Square to send the accused guildsman to the stocks.

He saw a random pirate guy over by the well, so he challenged the pirate to a duel to the death. After killing the pirate, he released the guildsman from the stocks and went home for dinner. He asked both scouts for their reports and the next objective was to make security arrangements with the lieutenant. The quest ended in platinum after the king discussed security with the lieutenant, earning one security and one knowledge aspect points.

Quest Walkthrough: Brave New World

Quest Name: Brave New World
Approach: Forge a Kingdom
Any Hero: Monarch

Quest Objectives

  • recruit 4 crew members
  • recruit 4 builders
  • buy Castle-in-a-Box
  • find land for new kingdom (with the boat)
  • establish a new kingdom (with the boat)
The little prince becomes a man.

Walk-through

This quest is only available after you complete an ambition and go into Free Play Mode, and the sim you select for this quest will leave the current kingdom at the end of the quest, to be available as the monarch in the next kingdom you start.  Your sim will leave behind any family members they have, and if they’re married, your sim cannot get married in the new kingdom.  You can do this quest with any sim and they will take their equipped items and special skills with them to the new kingdom.  This is the only way to get a dual-class monarch, by picking a hero other than the monarch to complete this quest.  I’m playing a Kingdom Legacy, so I used my monarch that was born in the kingdom and recently grew up, following the death of his mother.

The quest began after 10 pm and the king was depressed over the death of his mother.  His quest objectives were to recruit 4 builders and 4 crew members for the new kingdom, and purchase a Castle-in-a-Box from the Village Shoppe.  He wanted to plan an outfit and take a nice bath first.  He cried a lot because he was mourning, and he was also sick with The Wasting.  He went to bed feeling dreadful and unfocused.

The king woke up around 6 am, sobbed, then walked to the village to sell off all the extra stuff he inherited from his mother.  Although he couldn’t take the money with him, he had over §50,000 when he left the shoppe!  He did buy the Castle-in-a-Box, and on the way back he lectured some people and got four curative tonics, along with some more money, renown and experience points.  He cried openly at the town gate, then went to the tavern to have a drink and try to cheer up.

The tavern was deserted, so the king was forced to eat and drink alone.  He cried yet again, but his mood was beginning to improve slightly.  He returned to the castle at 11 and met two pretty ladies in the Throne Room, recruiting one as a builder and one as a crew member.  He had to hold court and by 4 pm, he was in a great mood and universally adored in the kingdom.  He drank some more curative tonic and read the war crimes docket before signing the arrest warrant for the accused war criminal.  He sent the accused pirate to the stocks and threw eggs at her for a little while, then released her and sent her to the pit.  (Her death wouldn’t count toward Watcher achievements because this quest is done in Free Play Mode, but killing pirates is a hard habit to break.)

The king saw his father walking through Town Square so he rushed over and recruited him as a crew member, then mourned his mother some more and returned to the castle for a late dinner.  He went to sleep just before 11 pm.  In the morning, he went to the main gate and recruited two people as builders.  He recruited a crew member at the docks just before 9 am.  With one builder and one crew member left to recruit, it would have to wait until after his job duties were finished.

He took care of his work, then recruited two more ladies from the Throne Room.  His next quest objective was to find a new land for his kingdom.  The king was in a great mood when he set sail just after 5 pm.  He encountered a ghost ship in the fog at sea and boarded it, earning some nice loot in the process.  He returned home after an hour and had located a great land for the new kingdom.

The final quest objective was to establish the new kingdom, but the king wanted to spend one more night in his homeland first.  He went back to the castle to sleep and take a bath. He woke up around 10 pm with the “Dry Spell” buff, so he went to the tavern to party one last time with his friends and check out the ladies.  He got a little tipsy, but was unable to find any ladies—he had already recruited all the best looking girls from the kingdom and they were waiting for him on the boat.  The king went home around 3 am and seduced one of the female guards, had some late night woohoo with her, then took another bath and got ready for his last day of work.

He held court (giving away lots of the simoles he couldn’t take with him anyways), took an afternoon nap, ate a meal, then went to the docks to sic a falcon on the pirate emissary before leaving to establish the new kingdom.  The king set sail after 5 pm, and the boat returned shortly afterwards.  The quest ended in platinum, although there are no rewards for this quest.

The quest ended and I saved my game, then went to the Main Menu to create a new kingdom.  After naming it and selecting a Throne Room, the kingdom loaded and I clicked on the castle to select the monarch.  The sim I completed the Brave New World quest with was available to be the new monarch, and he kept his level, skills, and all the equipped items he had when he finished the quest.  All he needed was a quick makeover because the sim you carry over to be the monarch of the your new kingdom will be dressed in a default monarch outfit with a crown.

Walk-through

I selected my Bonus Level 1 bard for this quest because it was my last quest before completing my current ambition and I wanted to hear my favourite bard songs before starting a new kingdom.

The quest began just after 1 am and the bard’s first quest objective was to plan an outfit for himself.  For personal reasons, he needed some poison to serve to unlucky patrons at the tavern, so he caught up with the spy and purchased 10 Reaper’s Scythe poisons.  The two old friends chatted together for a little while before the bard returned to the tavern.  By 3 am he was on stage, performing his favourite song (Winsome Whale Harken to My Call) to a small crowd.  The only pirate around was the spouse of the physician, so the bard didn’t serve any tampered drinks.  Instead, he planned a new outfit that was suitably colourful and festive.

The next objective was to travel to the Fortune Festival at Town Square.  He got there at 4 am and needed to ask the Festival Master about the festival.  The next thing the bard had to do was learn about the Fortune Festival, so he asked the Festival Master about the Wishing Well, Table Games, and Fortune Telling (in that order).

The next quest objectives were to make a small wish, get a palm reading, and practice playing cards.  These objectives can be fulfilled in any order, so the bard began by practising cards.  He practised cards for about an hour, then went and made his wish at the well.  He earned the “Attractive” buff.  Next up, the palm reading.  He paid for the premium package and got the “Uplifted” buff.

The next objective was to win twice at the card table.  He selected the lovely fortune telling gypsy lady to play cards with.  After one loss, he won the next two rounds and the next step was to collect the reward from the Festival Master.  The bard decided there was no need to rush and he put off the quest objective for a while.

The bard gathered inspiration near the Watcher Pavilion because he was low on Watcher theme elements for his poems and plays.  He didn’t get any Watcher theme after an hour, but his daily job responsibilities came up at 9 am.  He needed to gather inspiration for another two hours and perform a poem.  He gathered inspiration inside the Jacoban cathedral and found several Watcher elements.

The bard returned to the tavern hungry and needing a drink.  He cooked a late lunch for himself, then enjoyed a drink from the cask before going on stage to perform a poem and play one song with his lute.  By 4 pm, the bard went to bed and slept for three hours.  When he woke up, he played the lute one more time before going to Town Square to finally collect his reward from the Festival Master.

The Festival Master was limping when he handed over the reward: a pegasus figurine. Soon the next quest objective came up for the bard to celebrate with a drink.  He took a moment to ask the Festival Master and the gypsy lady for inspiration to write a poem about the festival, then he brewed some sparkling wine in the cask near the gypsy’s tent. He had a drink and then got the quest objective to relax for two hours.

The bard returned to the tavern and wrote a poem about the festival, then he played a song and performed his new poem on stage.  The time was up and the bard needed to take a nap in any bed, so he went upstairs to his private room.  As he napped, he dreamed about finding a dragon’s treasure hoard and he climbed up to try to snatch the sapphire at the top, but he failed and his dream went dark.  The bard received an urgent summons from the queen and needed to speak with her about her wishes.  The queen was sleeping at the time, however, so the bard had a meal, played a song on stage, then asked each of his customers for inspiration.  Finally he wrote a Legendary Poem before going to the Throne Room.

The queen thanked him for his service and gave him a “Citizen of the Century” award.  He played a lute song and got the whole Throne Room dancing before completing his next quest objective, which was to ask the royal advisor about special privileges.  The royal advisor said he could use the monarch’s private bathroom and help himself to free drinks, and even offered to give the bard a hug.

The next quest objectives were to get the hug from the royal advisor, take a bath in the monarch’s bathtub, and gussy up at the mirror.  After an awkward moment with the royal advisor, the bard took a bath and gussied up at the mirror.  His next objective was to celebrate with a drink from the cask, but the bard decided to play his lute in the Throne Room again and socialize with the queen.

At 9 am, the bard got his daily job responsibilities and needed to collect inspiration from three people and finish writing a Legendary Play.  He was inspired by people in the Throne Room, then returned to the tavern to write his play.  After his work was done, the bard finished his day with a good meal and a drink from the cask.  The next quest objective was to ask the royal advisor if there were any other prizes, but the bard needed to sleep first. When he woke up around 5 pm, he saw a foreign pirate in the tavern and decided to serve him a tampered drink to kill him with the Reaper’s Scythe poison.

The bard played his most popular song after the Grim Reaper took away the dead pirate, then went to the castle to talk to the royal advisor.  His next quest objective was to return to the festival, but when he reached the Town Square (at 1 am), he found the entire festival was gone.  Then he got arrested and put in the stocks until nearly 5 am.

The bard was released from the stocks when the royal advisor found him.  He was supposed to thank the royal advisor for rescuing him, but first he went to the tavern to eat, drink and play the lute.  When he was in a better mood, he returned to the Judgement Zone to thank the royal advisor.  He was limping and the royal advisor offered to help him. The next quest objective was to follow the royal advisor back to the Throne Room.  As the bard walked toward the castle, Magma Fever set in.  The royal advisor offered him a mysterious bag and his next quest objective was to read the strange book in the bag.  He read “Magical Trinkets and Cursed Idols,” then limped home to write two poems for work and get some sleep.  His next quest objective was to ask for help from the royal advisor.

There was another random pirate guy in the tavern, so the bard served him some Reaper’s Scythe and cooked some dinner for himself.  Then he went to the castle to ask for advice from the royal advisor, who told him to get rid of the cursed figurine in a game of cards. The bard had to challenge someone to a game of cards and then lose.  He challenged a nearby guard and lost the game.  He passed on the cursed pegasus and the quest ended in platinum, providing 4 culture points.  The bard reached Bonus Level 3.
