Walk-through

The quest began after 5 am, and the spy’s first objective was to go to the forest. He needed to scout for chinchillas but he wasn’t quite ready, so he went hunting instead. He got mauled by a mother bear protecting her cub, so he had to go to the Village Shoppe to buy first aid supplies. Then he needed to take care of his dailies and grab a bite to eat before he went to scout for dire chinchillas. The next objective was to consult the elder hunter who was hanging around by the forest, but the spy needed to get some rest first.

The spy collected herbs and practised kingball for a while when he woke up. He had breakfast at the tavern, then took care of his daily responsibilities before heading to the forest. When he discussed the dire chinchillas with the elder hunter, he was instructed to meet the hunter at the pit of judgement. He collected all the herbs from the forest clearing, then went to the judgement zone to meet the hunter. He discussed the plan to kill the chinchillas, then watched as the elder hunter jumped into the pit and attacked the pit beast.

The elder hunter jumped in the pit the first time around 9 pm, and the spy watched him fight the pit beast repeatedly. The elder hunter would drag himself out of the pit, then immediately jump in again! Eventually the spy passed out from exhaustion and was able to go home some time around 3 am. He slept and ate a meal, then returned to the judgement zone to watch the elder hunter fight the pit beast some more. It seemed the quest could be bugged, but finally the elder hunter stopped his insane behaviour and the spy was able to discuss training with him. (The previous times I played this quest were prior to the release of Pirates & Nobles, and this continuous jumping in the pit never happened those times. It could’ve been a one-off thing, but if it happens to you, try getting your sim to leave the area and return after some time has passed. Then send the sim to watch the fight in the pit again.)

After they discussed training, the spy’s next objective was to spar with the elder hunter, but he decided to pick a few pockets and take care of his dailies first. He returned to the judgement zone in the late afternoon and sparred with the elder hunter. It was a good match and the spy won, but he was arrested and put in the stocks for his trouble! He was stuck for an hour, forced to listen to the crazy old man, then he needed to decide how to proceed. He chose to continue listening to the old man, despite all the insanity.

The spy was in a foul mood from his time in the stocks, and he slapped the constable as soon as he was released. He was supposed to jump into the pit, but he went for a walk to pick some herbs and then went home for the night. In the morning, he mixed a few extra potions and hung out with the king for a while before receiving his daily responsibilities. After completing his work tasks and collecting potion ingredients around town, the spy finally went to the pit and faced the beast in combat.

The next quest objective was to go to the forest to meet the elder hunter, then ask him about armour. The old man offered to tell the spy the origins of the armour first, so he decided to listen. After asking for the story, the old man challenged him to a sparring match and proceeded to tell his tale while smacking the daylights out of the spy. Finally he handed over the legendary cloak (a costume), and the spy needed to wear it before hunting the dire chinchillas in the forest. It would’ve been nice to have extra time to kill that annoying elder hunter, but the spy had to complete his fur hunt in the forest. The quest ended in platinum, earning 2 security and 2 culture aspect points, and the spy got to keep the cool costume to wear whenever he wishes.

Walk-through

This quest only comes up if you have completed the Ominous Tides quest, and it allows you to gain pirate or guild allegiance. This walk-through will demonstrate gaining guild allegiance, but to gain pirate allegiance you would need to make the opposite choices. If you make a blend of guild and pirate choice throughout the quest, you can keep your kingdom neutral.

The quest began at 3 pm, and the king’s first objective was to decide if he should pick up his new sword himself, or send the servant to collect it. He ordered the servant to collect the sword, then set about taking care of his daily responsibilities. He wrote a treaty of ongoing peace, then went to the forest clearing to sic a parrot on the guild emissary. After returning home and cooking some seed porridge, it was time for the king to get his sword from the servant.

The next quest objective was to test out the new sword, which can be done with the training dummy or through sparring or duelling with an opponent. The king used the new sword on his training dummy and the sword broke. He decided to sleep for a few hours before taking care of his next quest objective, which was to confront the master swordsmith about the broken sword. He went to Town Square at midnight to talk to her about it.

His next quest objective was to talk to the royal advisor about the guild behaviour. The king decided to dig for treasure at the Town Square and got smacked by the pit beast. He made several more holes, trying to encounter the pit beast again while covered in its scent. After three tries, he finally got snatched by the beast and dragged into the pit to fight. During the struggle, the king had a choice to fight or take cover. He took cover and found the Doomsword hilt.

Dawn broke before the king made it back to the castle. He cooked an early breakfast for himself and passed a few hours reading a book. Then he took care of his daily responsibilities and spoke to the royal advisor about the guild behaviour.

The next quest objectives were to make appropriate arrangements for the peace summit the king would host for the pirates and nobles. The king needed to choose what kind of food to prepare, and he selected gourmet hors d’oeuvres for the menu. The king also needed to discuss security arrangements with the lieutenant and request a song from each musician waiting at the main gate.

The king needed 3 boar meat and 3 cheese for the summit menu, so he headed to the forest to hunt just after noon. While he was in the forest, he met two strange guys asking for “personages of historical significance,” so the king directed them to the castle of course. He got a totally excellent map piece from them as they ran back into the woods a short time later. The king went to the village shoppe next. He was able to buy all the cheese he needed, but the shoppe was low on boar meat.

When he returned from the village, the king requested a song from each of the musicians waiting at the main gate. The woman from Tredony was certainly the best, so the king hired her to perform for the guests at the peace summit. He took some time to chat with his servant before dinner, then met with the lieutenant to go over the security arrangements. The king needed to choose how security should be handled, and he wanted to make a show of force to make sure everyone felt safe.

The next quest objective was to sample the talent at town square, to find someone who could make the guests feel at home during their stay. The king was completely exhausted, so he went to bed and slept until just after 5 am. He went hunting again but failed to get more boar meat. He returned to the castle and cooked a meal for himself. Then he spotted his son and socialized with the boy for a while before sending him shopping. The king took care of his dailies while his son went shopping.

After his work was finished, the king went to town square to survey the talent. Two women were waiting near the well and the king needed to check them both out. The woman from Aarbyville looked exactly like the king’s great-grandmother, so he picked the woman from Tredony and hired her to be the greeter for the summit. The prince had returned from the shoppe, so the king collected the last of the boar meat he needed and took the food to the servant.

The next quest objective was to get a status report from the royal advisor. The king spoke with her in the throne room and was instructed to bathe in seawater or wildflower water prior to the guests arriving for the summit. The king selected the wildflower water and enjoyed a hot bath. His next objective was to wait for news of the arrivals. He brewed and drank some regular Royale Crowne in the cask, then received news that the Tredonians had arrived. The king’s next objective was to ask the royal advisor about the Tredonians. Then he went to greet them.

The king met the Tredonians at the forest and gave a gracious greeting to the Guild Lord, then took a moment to get to know the Admiral and the Guild Lord’s heir. His next objective was to escort the group to the reception hall. Just as they arrived at the castle, the royal advisor informed him that the Aarbyvillians had arrived and were waiting at the beach. The king decided to sleep and grab a bite to eat before dealing with them. He gave a surly salutation to the Dread Captain, then escorted the Aarbyvillians to the Reception Hall right around 6 am.

The next quest objective was to announce the start of the summit. The two parties exchanged gifts with each other and the king needed to continue the summit by making the next announcement. The second stage of the summit was the gift giving ceremony, where both parties present gifts to the host. The king needed to go to Town Square to receive the gifts from the Tredonian and Aarbyvilian guests. (The Town Square is decorated in a noble theme to demonstrate the allegiance at this point in the quest.)

The king’s next quest objectives were to receive a gift from each of the foreign representatives. The Guild Lord gave him an interrogation chair and encouraged him to test out the one on display at Town Square. The Dread Captain presented the king with a sunset macaw, and he needed to send the parrot treasure hunting. While he waited for the bird to return, he had to lock up the musician and test out the interrogation chair. He used a combination of tickling, dousing with water, and showing the mysterious box to the musician until he could interrogate her. He got some free spices from her and his next quest objective was to pick up the free interrogation chair from the village.

The king took care of his daily responsibilities before going to the village to get the interrogation chair. (You don’t buy the chair from the shoppe, instead, there’s a special option when you click on the path to the village.) His next quest objective was to return to Town Square. Once there, his next objective was to return to the Reception Hall, but he needed to sleep first. He went home to sleep, and was awake early the next morning to continue the peace summit. Upon returning to the Reception Hall, he found the royal guards unconscious and two of the guests were missing.

The king’s next quest objectives were to question Admiral Mandrake and Korbin Ravenscar, the two remaining members of each party. He heard both of their claims, then waited for everyone to clear out of the Reception Hall before speaking with the royal advisor. The quest ended in platinum, earning 1 security and 2 culture aspect points, plus moved the war effort toward the Tredonian side.

Walk-through

The quest began just before 5 pm, but the blacksmith had a full day of job duties and errands to run. His first quest objective was to speak with the monarch about smithing duties, but it could wait a while. The smith went to the Village Shoppe to buy some bear meat (in case it’s needed for crafting) and some basic food supplies. Then he discovered and harvested several types of ore around the path to the village and the training yard. He returned home and repaired a pirate’s rowboat with the forge. He had some soup, then crafted some armour for a guard. It was getting late when he delivered the boat and armour to his customers, so the blacksmith went home to bed.

In the morning, he woke before 6 am. He discovered more types of ore along the path to the castle, then talked to the king about smithing duties. The king said a large order would be coming and advised the smith to hire extra help. The next quest objective was to tell 3 people that he was looking for an apprentice. He collected more raw materials for crafting and spoke with villagers he met along the way. He spoke with the third villager, a female guildsman, and received a tip about a young man who would be a great apprentice. He put his quest on hold briefly in order to befriend and seduce the female guildsman. He took her home for some woohoo and the woman left immediately after, so the blacksmith cooked dinner for himself and ate alone.

The next quest objectives were to buy an amateur’s apron from the Village Shoppe, forge some tongs, and forge a helper’s hammer. He went to the village to buy the apron before going to bed around 1 am. He slept and forged the tongs in the morning when he woke up. Then he mined some more raw materials from around the smithy and the path to the village. He took care of his daily job duties and was pleased to see his romantic interest hanging out in Town Square that afternoon. He serenaded her and charmed her into his bed once again before forging the hammer for his new apprentice. His next objective was to forge some training scraps for the apprentice to practice on, so he did that right away.

He was summoned to the throne room to get an update from the king just as an applicant arrived at the smithy. It was a woman rather than a young man, as the blacksmith expected. He decided to hear the king’s update first, so he went to the castle. The king gave him his next objective, which was to craft some prototype armour. He had to take care of his dailies and gather more raw materials before going home. He forged some plate mail to sell in the village, then talked to the applicant to determine her suitability.

The applicant offered to clean up, so the blacksmith needed to give her some time to do the job. In the meanwhile, he forged the prototype armour for the king, and delivered it personally. The king loved it and said he wanted a hundred pieces of the new armour! The blacksmith returned home to find the place filthy, and he needed to decide how to decline the lazy applicant. He fired her with extreme prejudice and his next objective was to kick her out of his shop, which he was glad to do without delay.

The next quest objective was to interview the apprentice-to-be, the young man the blacksmith had heard good things about earlier. The interview was put off until morning because it was nearly midnight and the smith was exhausted. In the morning, he interviewed the applicant. First, he quizzed the young man about smithing, then asked if he was confident handling hot metal. He hired the applicant after the interview.

The next quest objectives were to give the new apprentice his tools and materials, then forge the noble’s sword for the monarch. The smith needed decorative gems and a longsword to craft the noble’s sword, but the Village Shoppe didn’t have any decorative gems when he checked. He would have to wait for the shoppe to get fresh stock in the morning. He mined around town, then forged a new hammer for himself and crafted a longsword. When the store refreshed, the blacksmith was able to purchase decorative gems to finish the noble’s sword. He went home and forged it before his daily duties were posted.

Next, the blacksmith needed to check the apprentice’s work, and he was surprised to learn that the guy had finished the entire order for the monarch already! The next quest objective was to deliver the equipment to the monarch, but the blacksmith took care of his dailies first. After making the delivery to the monarch, the quest ended in platinum, earning 1 security and 2 knowledge aspect points for the kingdom.
